Evaporative Condenser

Evaporative Condenser is a combination of Condenser and Cooling Tower. It substitutes the Shell & Tube Condenser and totally eliminates the Cooling water circuit. Although ancient in concept, evaporative condensers of late have been drawing attention of all design, development and application engineers and the recent products are the result of combined efforts of those interested in energy saving in refrigeration systems.

Energy Saving

Unlike Shell & Tube and Air-cooled condenser, Evaporative condenser performance depends on ambient Wet Bulb Temperature. It is theoretically possible to lower the condensing temperature to a 35°C level from 40°C for a wet bulb temperature of 28°C, by replacing a  S & T condenser. Any lowering of condensing temperature results in decreasing of compressor power input. Besides, since large cooling water circulation pumps are eliminated, power consumption on this account is also reduced.

  • Capacity range: 217 KW to 2278 KW
  • Coil bundle is made of 19 mm diameter of SS 304 tubes with low surface roughness unlike others which is hot dip galvanized with a rough surface inducing scale formation. Coil bundle with SS 304L, SS316/SS316L tubes also available.
  • FRP side panels for the coil sections and FRP doors and top cover for the fan section to provide corrosion free service thus adding to the life of the unit.
  • The tank, coil and fan section are made out of HRCA sheets duly spray galvanized.
  • All sections in SS construction are also available.
  • The tie –rod support for the coil bundle has PVC/ Neoprene (optional) sleeve to prevent metal to metal contact between rod and tube.
  • Unique design of coil assembly – No need to replace coil bundle in case of leakage. Individual tube ends expanded in tube sheets to form IN/OUT headers, which facilitates identifying any tube leakage and plugging it which in turn avoids replacement of entire bundle.
  • Each coil is tested pneumatically at 25 Bar pressure before & after assembly
  • Industrial type hollow bladed FRP fans with aluminum hub and adjustable blade angle providing high efficiency with light weight.
  • Generous and uniform water distribution over coil section with PVC spray piping & Polypropylene spray nozzles.
  • Adequate capacity tank section (FRP lining / SS optional) with monobloc pump set, SS strainer and bleeding line. Back pull out coupled pumps, installed stand-by pumps also available as an option.
  • The removable and washable PVC Louvers of ‘Z’ cross section housed in the frame (above tank section) provide ample flow area for air intake at the same time trapping the dust. It also prevents the algae formation by avoiding entry to sun rays in to the tank.
